(April 5, 2016) — [Federal Signal ](https://www.federalsignal.com/)![Post03](https://www.guzzler.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Post03.jpg?width=252&name=Post03.jpg)[Corporation’s](https://www.federalsignal.com/) Environmental Solutions Group has announced its intent to acquire [Joe Johnson Equipment](http://www.jjei.com/) (JJE), a leading Canadian-based distributor of maintenance equipment for municipal and industrial markets. The transaction is expected to close by the end of the second quarter of 2016.   Under the terms of the acquisition, JJE will operate as part of Federal Signal’s Environmental Solutions Group, a leading provider of street sweepers, industrial vacuum trucks, high-performance waterblasting equipment, sewer cleaners and vacuum excavators for commercial, municipal and industrial customers.   “This acquisition reflects the Environmental Solutions Group’s commitment to grow across North America, while remaining close to our core,” said Sam Miceli, senior vice president of Federal Signal’s Environmental Solutions Group. “JJE brings a comprehensive platform of product, rental and used equipment offerings that will allow us to expand our product portfolio and better serve our dealer network and customers in both the United States and Canada.”   “Our company has a proud history of customer focus, excellent service and prudent growth, including expansion of both our reach and our product offerings,” said Joe Johnson, Jr., president of JJE. “We are excited to bring our strength in Canada, our rental and other operating capabilities and our experience as a dealer to Federal Signal’s Environmental Solutions Group.”   A five-year recipient of the prestigious “Canada’s Best Managed Companies” award, Joe Johnson Equipment specializes in serving municipalities, municipal contractors and industrial contractors with high-quality products that include [Elgin Sweeper](https://www.elginsweeper.com/) street sweepers and [Vactor](https://www.vactor.com/) sewer cleaners and vacuum trucks from Federal Signal’s Environmental Solutions Group, as well as snow removal and refuse collection equipment.
